I am starting to look for a PTO-powered, wood-bodied manure spreader in the 100-120 bushel range, but don't know what models to look for. Can someone provide what New Idea, John Deere, etc., models would fit this description?

I saw a New Idea model 19 recently that seemed to be a good size, what would that spreader's capacity be?

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

John Deere N 120 bushel, early ones, later was 134 bushel, all triple (w/widespread) beater. W model I think was 95 bu.

NI 19 - 125 BUSHEL, great spreader, my neighbor has owned his for 30 yrs. triple beater

We have a 201 NI - 145 bu., triple beater, good spreader too, has required very little maintence, keep them cleaned out (and washed out)and oiled up and they should run for years.
212 NI -newer than those above, available with single beater, 3 beater, or flail.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the capacities would be for the newer John Deere spreaders (such as the models 33,34,40,44)?

had several one thing i like on new holland they have a belt drive its a lot easier to work with then shear bolts one model has an open axle and manure will get in and someday with a full load the spreader will do the splits going through gate no less one other thing to watch is your wheel track going through snow its best to run in tractor tracks also watch where your balance is at helps on small tractors to hold as much weight as possible on drawbar also check on beater if the are replacable

I've got a NI 12, but it is ground-driven. I can't find the book right now, but I seem to remember that it is rated at 90 bushels when level with the sideboards, and the book says you can mound manure up to "the level of the arch" which is about half-again as much--so that would be in the size range you're looking for.

Sorry, can't recommend any others, as this is the first and only one I've had.
