Anyone know if you can buy bolt on mud scrapers for a disc harrow? I was trying to break up 10 acres yesterday for jiggs this spring and dirt/mud kept packing between the disc blades. Really frustrating since the disc won't cut anything with that stuff packed in there and it's pretty hard to get out. It just rides on top of the ground when this happens. Just thinking when I plant sprigs, it will be pretty wet then also and it will take forever if this thing keeps doing this.
Thanks.

FWIW- If we run short on scrapers, we take a length of flat chain, old spreader chain, and loop around the frame and the axle of the disc on the concave side of the disc that needs help. It won't clean the actual disc, but it will stop the mud build up. I saw some scrapers made from 6 or 8 inch schedule 80 PVC some guy made. He said you heat the pvc and get it almost flat. Then cut to shape.

Do you know what kind of disk it is? I know you can get aftermarket poly scrapers for some IH, JD, and White disks, probably others. The older ones, I'm not sure what's out there. There are plenty of JD disks like RW, AW, KBA, out there in the salvage yards, and scrapers for them are pretty much the same between models. My Taylor-Way disk is a problem because the scraper mounts are welded to the frame, so if I can't get or don't want the OEM style scrapers, I have to do a little fabrication. Not that big of a deal for 1 or 2 at a time, but doing a whole harrow at once might be a little tedious. I'll look through some of my catalogs, and see what I can find.

Would appreciate any help Tim. My disc is a Hay King and is 7'. OEM stuff is around $350 and I wanted to check around before I went that direction.
