Would appreciate help finding aftermarket parts for MF molel 74 bottom plow with 3 16 inch plows. Several years ago it took me several 40 mile one way trips to the MF dealer to find someone who knew what a plow was and could use the computer to get the correct parts in. Not looking forward to that experience again. I tried TSCO with no luck. I tried our local old fashion farm supply house who gladly looked in his old covey holes and found close matches but bolt holes would not line up. He had no luck finding model 74 MF plow in his parts books and suggest I go to MF. Any help appreciated. Plow points are worn and the land slides are completely worn out. thanks

Did you ever get your model 74 parts? Is yours set up as Cat. 1 or Cat. 2? I am considering buying one like yours, 3-bottom, 16" but it is configured at Cat.2 and my tractor is a Ford 801 Cat.1. Two people haved told me my tractor can handle a 3-16 plow but if I buy the Model 74 M-F I found, then I need to convert it to Cat. 1. It doesn't have removeable pins like some models have. Has anyone used a Model 74 plow in Cat. 1 mode?

Matthew,
I have two MF Model 74 plows, one is 4- 16", and the other is 4- 14". They are built the same whether they are 2, 3, 4, 5 or more 14" or 16" bottoms. I just ordered a Parts Manual and an Operators Manual through MF Dealer. He has most parts for a total rebuild of my two. I found points at an independent used equiment jockey. But I notice you can order from agri-supply at Link . Let me know how you come out. I got the local TSC to order me a set of new shins. I have completely rebuilt two of these so can give you any advice. Be sure to check whether your points have 3 or 4 bolts. Mine have 3 bolts, some have 4 bolts. Also, don't use it with worn shins, as this will allow the wings to wear out. Some people call the wings moldboards. Also the furrow wheel assembly usually needs much work to restore it - MF dealer had the parts I needed. The wings have the MF part number on the back, but MF dealer will be higher than a cats back. Good luck.
