Only 4 tons, when that was made they only used small flat beds for stacking bales.

so what size body would you recommend for this tonnage of gear, i will be using it with a kicker not stacking the bales usualy. the running gear measures about 11 ft from axle to axle right now so i thought that about a 16 ft body would work out well or do you think i could go longer if i extended the pipe in the center?

I have 7'x7'x16' on my two 4-ton JD gears. If you make the pole longer, it may get bent, which happened to a Gehl gear that came under an 8'x8'x18' that I bought at an auction. If I stack a 16' wagon (sometimes I have to get as much hay as possible on each of 5 wagons so as not to lose any to bad weather) I get 130 bales on there, which at 50 lbs. per bale is 6500 lbs., plus the weight of the rack, is about all you want on the gear. The same wagon will hold maybe 90 bales kicked in a pile.
