Back in the mowers day JD supplied mounts for many makes and models of tractors that were popular at that time. If JD did not have a ready made mount for a particular tractor you needed to make your own from "cut to fit" parts from JD or fabricate your own mount or a combination of the above. What make and model tractor are you interested in mounting the 38 mower on?

craig i tried to use the #38 jd mower on a 601 ford; i have the mount, but the ford does not have the down pressure on the drawer bar and the weight of the mower tilts it to the right side, but that's not a real problem i can fix that with a fixed draw bar. i don't have a remote hydraulics on the 601 and it is too expensive to add the selector valve, so i am going to get another tractor anyway, probably a 4020 john deere with a remote hydraulic connection, but thanks for answering my question so kindly. jerry b.

I use mine with a 2510,they can be used with any tractor, but you need the quick attatch knobs to mount on your tractor.I had to cut an inch off each end of the pto shaft to allow for play.Check with your JD dealer. happy mowing , pappy
