I have a JD KBA disc and may need to do bearing maint. from time to time. Can anyone tell me anything about them. I know they are wooden but I assume there are more than 1 size. Any information would be useful. Thanks, Eric

Should you find out you want metal bearings for it, www.shoup.com is _the_ source for disk parts.

The KBA never had wood in the bearings, Could it be a JBA, older and lighter in weight but I think they also had all steel bearings.

Your KBA has wooden bearings? Mine has grey iron bearings. Anyway, there is an Amish shop in Pennsylvania that rebuilds KBAs and sells parts for them, including sealed bearing conversions. Groffdale Machine Company, I think is their name. I don't have the info handy right now, but when I see it, I'll post it.
