Has anyone ever heard of a two or three bottom walking plow? If so can anyone tell me who made it or where I can get a picture of one ?

lejo,

I was about to tell you to ease up on the Egg Nog a bit but I decided to give a look in a book I have here and guess what I found----- --

In the "Encyclopedia of American Farm Impliments & Antiques" by C. H. Wendel it does show some 2 bottom walking plows. They look like a sulky plow but the pictures show they only had 2 wheels, regular plow handles, and no seat.

The first one is being showed as being offered in 1903 from the Bucher & Gibbs Plow Co. that could turn a furrow from 8 to 10 inches deep and 24 to 26 inches wide.

The second one was offered by Frost and Wood Co. Ltd. of Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. It shows what was known as the Kangaroo Gang Plow of 1910. It goes on to say that it was actually from Cockshutt Farm Equipment that Frost and Wood purchased from Cockshutt and put their own label on.

My scanner is down right now but I will try to scan the pictures as soon as I can for you.
