witch drill's work better jd or ihc? gang press wheels or press wheels attached to opener's? need opinions! thanks

Drills. You are really not asking which is best in press wheels. You are comparing depth wheels with press wheels. The wheel on seed openers will not allow narrow spacing if you are doing mall seed. About 10inches narrow as you can go. The press wheels behind on some drills still control depth to some degree along with firming seed. I like 2 inch press wheels on 7.5" spacing for what I do. I know where their is a very usable JD 8200 series drill,with small seed,drag chains instead of press wheels for $850.00. He used it last season to do beans.

I have a jd 450 grain drill with seeder and gang press wheels. they tell me that the other type of press wheels are better don't what they are called? what i am having trouble with is on the ends not many plants but in the center plants just fine (maybe discing too much) wondering if i should look for a different drill?

I have run the Deere drill,515 with carts,750 model,and also have run the IH with coulter cart. I like best the one I have now which is Marliss drill on coulter cart. Has better flutes and alot better way of setting them. Box cleans out alot better. If deere I would stay with 515 and cart over 750. Just my 2cents.

What type of soil. What will you be putting in with it, wheat, milo, beans. Do you intend to have grass seed on it,
