I bought a John Deere rollover 4 bottom plow. This plow seems to be having the model number missing. I plan to move the plow with a 1466 International Tractor. Is there any tips that I can use with this plow. What is the main purpose of the tire that goes on the side of the plow. Should the first or last moldboard make contact with the ground first. Any help or suggestions would be truly appreciated.

The tire on the side is known as your land wheel. It will help keep plow level once it is in the ground. You usually lower front first then rear into ground if it is semi mount or is yours fully mounted plow? You will have no trouble pulling it with that size tractor. The first thing you need to do is get furrow established with tractor in it then level the plow accordingly. E-mail me and will help you set it up. I have farmed all my life,so let me know need more help
