I have a question for you computer experts. First, I must admit that I am nearly computer illiterate. So, here's the question. When I log onto this website, I immediately look at the section on the right entitled: Top Antique Tractor Discussions. Now, on my computer at work, I have a red dot to the left of each catagory(tractor talk, tool talk, Implement alley, etc,) that I can click on that takes me directly to that particular discussion board. However, at home, my computer does not have that red dot. Anyone know why the difference? At work the computer uses IE 5.5 At home, I think it is IE 6.0 Just curious, Steve

The red dots are actually small pictures. You might have the "Show Pictures" internet option for Internet Explorer disabled. To check this, go to the top menu line of an internet explorer screen and click on "Tools", then click "Internet Options", then click "Advanced". Scroll down to the Multimedia Section and see if the box next to "Show Pictures" is checked. If not, you can click on the box to enable it. Then click "Apply" and then "OK". Your red dots should be there after you bring up the page again.

The answer may be the Antique Tractors website vs. the Yesterday's Tractors website. While surfing the 'net, I found these two websites have a very similar opening page but not identical. One has the red dots and the other doesn't. That begs the question - do you have one website set up on one computer and the other website on the other? Try typing in www.antiquetractors.com and see what comes up then type in www.ytmag.com and see the difference. Hope this is the answer.

Interesting. I was able to make the red dots disappear and reappear by unchecking and checking the "Show Pictures" box. All I can think of is to re-verify the box is checked before you click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons and then click the refresh button for the webpage and see if the dots appear. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Good Luck!!

I was right behind you Hermit. I just went to Internet options and unclicked "show animations", no change, then "show pictures" and the dots went away.

Thank you, Steve. The Ytmag home page is my home page, and while I enjoy clicking on the 'top discussions' I always wished there was a quicker way to get to the pages showing all messages in a forum.

I just never saw the red dots!!!! Sheez. I was going to ask what you are talking about, but went to the home page, and there they are, have been all the time!

So, you might consider yourself computer illiterate, but you just helped me!

Wish I could help you, don't know why you don't see them on one setup. They appear on my Net 4.7

I've got them too. Netscape 4.7 I never noticed them til I read this discussion. I usually click on "Show all Discussion Forums" at the bottom of the list. I also read some of the forums that are not shown on the home page, so I'll have to go the usual route to get to them. Interesting question. Maybe Kim can explain why you're not getting them.

I have the red dots, but I also have IE 6.0. You're not by any chance missing the color "red" altogether, are you?
