Which is stronger, a 3-pt or a loader?

I was looking at a posthole digger that would mount to the front-end-loader of my 4020. (model 720 loader)I was wondering if the hydraulics on the loader were as strong or possibly stronger that on my 3-pt. Being able to use the down pressure of the loader would be nice in our hard soil but I don't want to make an anchor out of the auger bit.
Thanks, James

Check out Danuser.com The Danuser D8 is one awesome unit and the down pressure kit adds 500 lbs of pressure to the weight of the unit. They also make a D20/40 model that has a 500lb down pressure kit. These are really nice and will last forever. The front loader with a hydraulic auger will generally "push" down harder and is "stronger" but it is also much more expensive and more complicated to attach/remove. Unless you are a commercial operator and doing "holes" for a living I would go with the 3 point. Danuser or Bush Hog or even a cheapo.

I bought a cheapo PTO post hole digger and found there's a "big" difference in how they are designed and work compared to a better digger. My brother bought a Bush Hog digger, and it dug so much better in tough conditions i couldn't believe it. I now have a BH digger, and it's the bare mininum post hole digger i'd ever buy. (my ground isn't sand and i have stones) The cheaper diggers have smaller cheaper gear boxes, and augers that aren't nearly as aggressive as the better units. I like haveing the digger on the PTO, and then use the loader bucket to carry all the other things i need, like post ect.. Another thing, the PTO has a lot more lifting power than the loader to pull the auger in wet heavy soils, expecially when there's roots involved. Robert
