I have a King cutter three point hitch dirt scoop. It isn't real easy to dump. Has any one made any inprovements on theirs for a trip system?

Put an extension on the dump handle. I used a piece of 1"x1" square tube stock about a foot long; Just slip it over the existing handle. Tac weld it on if you think you will loose it. World of difference.

I have two Scoops, one king kutter and the other not sure on MFG. but both work well, just lower load and then trip.

Is it the release or the actual dumping that's hard? I was using a Ford scoop - smaller than the King Cutter - just to move dirt shoveled into it from a location I couldn't get it into to load. Had an awful time dumping after it tripped because I'd shoveled too much in the back of the scoop and les in front so as to change the balance so the heaviest part of the load was behind the pivot. Scoop was set up with opening facing back, so solution was to trip with the bucket down, then back and raise at the same time to use the tractor's motion to roll the scoop. Sure beat tring to force it by hand. Alternately, make sure you don't overload to the back of the scoop. That rarely happened to me when scooping in the usual way.

I have one but its set up for snap coupler. The only dump problem I have had has been getting too much dirt in the scoop holding the latch from moving forward, this only happens with heavy sod and I don't think there is any prevention.

Without knowing why yours does not dump easily, I will just tell you how mine works. The latching bar rests on top of a horizontal bolt that has a short piece of pipe which acts as a roller. when I pulled the rope, the angle wasn't that great so I attached a small pulley to change the angle of pull. When I pull the rope the latching bar easily comes off the roller and it dumps, assuming everything is clean and well lubed.

i had another brand of scoop that done the same thing. the trip latch is binding. get some dry spray graphite lube and spray it well and it should work ok. be safe!

there was some talk some time back on one of these boards about an improved system but I find the things fairly easy to use.I think the key is to touch ground just enough to take the pressure off the release as you keep tension on the release rope and then allow the dump as you raise the 3 point. This works with the tractor in motion or stopped. If I haven't been too clear post back and I will try to help.
