I was at an auction wednesday in Moltrie, Ga., and saw what looked to be a very late model, if not almost new self propelled hay baler. It had a cab on it and of course they said it wasn't going to sell. Everything that sold was cheap,so they wouldn't try to sell the nicer stuff.( as usual)

My question is this: I would like to know from some New Holland expert about the self propelled baler I saw, like the model number, availablity, and avg. price. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks; Barney

As far as I know. The first one's to have cab's were the mod. #1283,which was built from 1973 til 1977. Then the mod. #1425 was built from 1978 til 1981. Then the last one built was the mod. #1426. It was built from 1981 til 1984. As for price, I bought my 1280 (no cab) for $1600. I saw a 1290 (no cab) 3-wire,wire baler sell for $1600, and it was in exceptional shape. I hear they bring alot more in the midwest. Most people around here ( New York) have never seen one. Alot of people think mine is home-made LOL. That's the best I can do for ya.
