I need to find some good paint. This crap paint I got from Fleet Farm is driving me nuts. It looks real good when you can spend all day preping and I suppose priming. It some kind of acrilic paint.
It runs like crazy and wicks away from the scratches. It takes 6 coats to get a good covering.
I dont want to spend that much time painting a Baler.

Where do you guys go to get some decent paint?

Go with the genuine NH. It costs less than $35.00 a gallon, definitely worth the extra. I teach ag mechanics and we paint 40-50 units a year. Used to use the CT Farm and Country or TISCO paints a lot. After 2-3 years the reds turned pink. Tried Western and Martin Senor and they wanted to chip, Sherwin Williams maint enamels turned pink. Went with the OEM's. The reds and yellows are right (still use a little lead). Only OEM I have trouble with is Deere. They are a lead free and can be aggervating. Be sure and use the OEM thinner (except IH red, glosses more with a hot laquer thinner).

Kelly, You definately want to stay away from anyone's paint that is less than $20.00 per gallon. New Holland paint is pretty good stuff. It does need some hardner or accelerator added or it takes forever to dry. Also, I've had great success with paint from TISCO. That stuff seems to dry well on it's own. Steve

TISCO?
Is that a manufacture or a retailer?
Where do you find that?
Sorry for all the lame questions Steve.

Kelly, TISCO is an after market ag parts supplier. The same as Herschel, Tempco, A&I, and others. I'd say most Ag Dealers have access to TISCO. By the way, it stands for "Tractor Implement Supply Company. Steve
