What kind of plow for my little Deere M?

I got this tractor primarily for grading my gravel driveways.

I would also like to use it for putting in some small food plots for the deer and turkeys on my hunting land.

My question for those of you who know volumes more about this stuff than I ever will is.
What kind and size plow/disc/whatever should I be looking for?

I have a friend who says he uses a chisel plow, but I am not sure the lil JD M could pull one of those.

The M is a 1 or 2 plow tractor. It will pull a 6 foot double action disk.
If you want a plow that will work on the Touch-O-matic You will have to have a plow that will work with it. The M1A one bottom, or M2A two bottom.

I forgot to mention that I have a 3 point hitch on this tractor (worksaver or somesuch).

This will sound like a reallly stupid question.... but what is a "6 foot double action disk". Is this like one of the ones that TSC sells?

For food plots, you don't need much. A single bottom plow will work. KingKutter sells many 3-point implements for non-commercial use such as cultivators, plows, disc, etc. There are others, too. Check out your nearest home and farm store. They'll have stuff sitting out in front usually.

The original 2 bottom plow for the M was 12" size and posed a full load in heavy clay soils. Most of the 3 point conversions for the M do not permit having one lift arm lower than the other. A 3 point plow may not work due this lack of adjustment. Perhaps the dealer will have a used 3 point 12" two bottom plow for brief loan to see if it will work. Or borrow one from a Ford 9N, 2N or 8N owner for a test.

OK so you do have a 3 point hitch. Most M-s don't. As long as you have a 3 point hitch you can use new plows or equipment

TSC is that what CT farm & country is today?

The disk i'm talking about has a set
of blades in the front and back.
Anything in the 5' or 6' size would be right for the M. Disk, Tine Harrow, Rear blade.
