I've run across a two bottom plow that has the word PLOWMASTER painted on one of the levers. It's a pull type, on rubber, with no trailing wheel behind the second share.. It's got the afore mentioned lever (likely to raise and lower it) and a crank (not sure what that one does)...It has coulters, looks to be a snap type coupler, also looks like a trip type, but there's no rope...Any help on the make of this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, thanks a lot..... Yes, David, I do have the bull ring that bolts to the drawbar on the tractor..... Believe it or not, it was sitting right there on the plow. I haven't found an Oliver 70 yet, but I'm not done digging yet. Thanks again guys.

Yep, your have an Oliver Plowmaster 100. The color should be Oliver red, with yellow wheels.
The crank is the depth control; a lever should adjust "gee" and "haw" to the plows, and a rooster comb trip pull raises and lowers the plows. You may find "Raydex" and some lines on the backside of the moldboards. As for the lack of a hind wheel, there was a picture of one on this website somewhere that claimed to have no wheel either. Mine's got one. It is a 2 x 16". Parts are available, as the plowpoints, shins, etc. were used by Oliver much after this plow went out of style. Do you have the clevis needed to attach it? I saw one for sale under Photo Ads on here a few weeks ago. It was ~$50 as I remember it (ought to be gold plated for that)--but you need one to hitch it up. It is a loop-like affair that bolts through the hole in your drawbar. You really ought to have an Oliver 70 to pull it with!

The snap coupler - is that a spring-loaded jaw with a botton on top to unlock it?

Any type of color left anywhere on it?

Never heard of a trailer plow without a rear wheel, what does it sit on in back?

The plow goes into the ground with the trip, the lever is for adjusting how deep the right side plows. Need it way up (the lever) for the first round, then close to way down from then on, depending on plow wear & soil conditions.

I have both 2 & 3 bottom Ollie plows, trip.

If it says plowmaster on it and has a crank adjustment it is problably an Oliver. The crank is for controling plowing depth once it is put into the ground and the lever is for adjusting how far down the land wheel goes down when plowing the plow should be leveled once put into the ground. It sounds like an Oliver to me because I have not seem any other manufacturers have crank adjustments on them they use another lever instead. Richard.
