I recently obtained a very early self propelled swather. Yellow like a Minneapolis Moline, but no markings to identify manufacturer. Twelve feet wide. Driver sits above, left and behind swath opening. It has a small (12 inch) single leading front wheel that runs just to the left of the standing grain. The engine is missing but appears to have set in front of the driver to the left and ahead of the left drive wheel. It probably slid back and forth to tighten the two V drive belts through the double foot pedals in front of the operator. It has had very little use as the yellow paint is still on the sprokets and sickle. I believe it was in our community as early as 1952 or 1953. Can anyone help with identity. Thank you.

Ralph,
I recently went to an auction where a yellow swather like what you described was for sale there ,except it didn't have that 12" tire. It was an Owatonna, (obviously before they started painting them green). It was powered by a Wisconsin v-4 motor. It was very similar to my Massey-Harris swather in looks and that the drive wheels shafts had a little clutch/pressure plate assemble on them. If you can e-mail a picture I would be able to verify it. Where are you located?
