Help! JD 47 loader was a trip upgraded to hydraulic. Problem: cylinders on bucket won't work at all. Hyd. control sounds like it wants to lift . The loader cyls. work fine. Any ideas. Can cyls both be bad? On 1968 3020 JD.

Larry, tie back your lever for the bucket then lightly touch the cylinders for a hot spot, this will tell you if you have a bad cylinder/packing. The bypassing oil will create some heat while passing through a leaking ram seal. May take a few minutes to heat up, also when touching something that may be hot always touch with the back of your hand, that way your arm/hand pulls away instead of grabbing the part and burning you when you would with your palm/fingers. It's possibly just one cylinder but if one is bad the other one won't be far behind. Did you happen to change the hoses around from lift to bucket to eliminate a valve problem. good luck chris
