I am looking into restoring Stationary Engines, I am looking for some advice on sum books or any wedsites that can give me any information on all of the different makes and models. Also I am looking for feedback from other buyers who bought into Stationary Engines that has got burned. So I will have ideas on what to look for before buying. Thank you very much.

I also have been looking at and researching those old engines for quite some time. I haven't bought one either yet due to the prices mainly. I was told to try and find a local club to gather info about engines but there are none close to me.I never new that there are two types of old engines. One is throttle governed and the other is hit and miss that will hit every time under a load. Check out www.oldengine.com and good luck finding a engine.

I've been doing the same--for about 3 years! Just can't bring myself to buy one yet...big bucks.

Anyway, there is a forum on this site just about stationary engines. Go up around the top of the page and look at the list of other sites/pages...stationary engines is near the bottom of the list.

Good luck. Hope you're not as big a chicken as I am.
