Have seen questions listed on these pages about bushogging. What exactly is a bushog? Is it a rotary mower, and bushog is the brand? Just curious.

corey, bush hog is actually a brand name for the a type of very heavy duty rotary mower pulled behind a tractor and powered by the tractor's PTO shaft.

brush hog is a more generic name. a bush hog brand rotary mower is a brush hog.

A bush hog is a large mower that is pulled behind a tractor. It is built heavy for mowing such things as very tall grass, blackberry briars, small saplings, etc. Think of it as a heavy duty lawn mower for the tough jobs. You will also see them called brush hogs.

Bush Hog or Brush Hog was originally (and I believe, still is) a brand name that came to be a generic name for rotary mowers. Much like Kleenex is now a generic name for tissues.
