What would A 1940's #5 John Deere mower in good condition(not restored)be worth approx??

I sold one this summer that was in excellent condition with some extra parts for $500 and smiled all the way to the bank.

I advertised one several years ago that was in excellant shape for $50 and the phone rang off the wall. At recent auctions I've seen them sell anywhere from $25 to over $300. I'm in west central Wisconsin
