Does anyone know what the differences are in the No.10, No.12A and No.14A ground driven spreaders? I am getting an owners manual for the 14A but I just bought a 12A. There doesn't appear to be a big change. Thanks.

A number 10 New Idea spreader is a horse drawn spreader. There are more parts that are interchangable from a number 10 to a number 12A than there is from a number 12A to a 14A. General works of all three spreaders are basically the same. If interested in knowing what year your spreader was manufactured. I have lists of lot numbers and years available.

Brian:

According to the lit. I have, your lot #365 spreader would have been made in 1954. New Idea built ground driven spreaders until 1974. I have approximately 8 good NI ground driven spreaders in my "collection". If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me, just put it is in regard to a NI spreader.
