Mod 500 john deer round bailer makin loose bales

how do i get this this to make nice tight bails i put new belts on and it, and it seems to be tieing ok, but still makes a floppy looking bale im running on a 125hp tracktor is there any other adjustments i could make to tighten the bails up it has a bail kick on it if that makes any differance, thanks

Garry,if it is a JD 500 it only uses spring tension for bale tightness.You can slow ground speed,make smaller windrows,run at rated pto speed,or add more springs.Later model JD balers had dealer installed extra springs(410).I never saw a bale kicker on a JD 500.Only other option I see is to trade it for a baler with hyd. tension(much tighter than just spring tension).Jim

thanks for the tip ill try to tighten them springs up and go a bit slower ill let you know in the next week to see if that helps,,,garry as the bail kick go,s i must have the only one lol i never seen any of them with them on, i guess im lucky lol
