Can someone give me a ballpark figure on the value of a NH 66 that is driven with a Wisconson engine instead of a pto? The baler is an early 50"s and has been in the barn since the early 60"s. Thanks in advance.

I consider the 66 to be the best baler ever built, have two of them now that I want to combine into one good one, years ago had one with the motor, wore the motor out, rebored and wore out again, only got rid of it when bought newer baler with thrower after a couple of us were over come with heat stroke.

The NH 66 was a good baler but limited capacity. Good for the '50's but not much by today's standards. If it hasn't been used for nearly 40 years the engine may be seized. might want to check that. At best that would be a $3-400 machine if everything works, but that's unlikely given what you have described. Might be a fun project getting it working again.

Don probably on the right track. I bought a 65 N.H. about three years ago. $200.00. Baled three bales and went kaputt. 800 dollars and one year lator it baled over 1000 bales didnt miss but 10. Mine anyway is a smaller bale about 2 inch smaller in height and width. But been getting the same price at the sale barn as the big ones do. Women love em cause they can handle them alittle easier. HOWEVER just this past spring bought a 273 N.H. with only 8000 bales through her. $1200.00 BUT A SWEET BALER. now using the 65 as backup but so far havent needed her. Good luck..

P.s. mine is also a pto driven...

Location? Without knowing where you are, it's a real big ball-park! :)

Something that sat for 35 years with no attention, engine rusted tight, knotters also rusted tight from mouse poo - would be lucky to get maybe $50 around 'here'.

On the other hand, like-new condition, everything working & shiny, freshly made bale in it with good working clean knotters, engine fires on the first pull, might bring $600 'here', possibly more in small-baler regions, probably quite a bit more in Amish regions.

So, $25 - $1000 is your ballpark. Probably not helpful, but location & better description of it's condition will narrow it down.
