My friend asked me to post this. He has an old manure spreader which he has been using. (make unknown). The apron chain broke. He tried to get parts at a bearing and chain store and they could not match the chain. They said the chain is a #77. Would that be a correct size for that detachable chain and if so where can I get 10 links? If anyone knows of a supply store could you provide the address/phone number.

Thanks John from Alberta Canada

John, I'm not familiar with a #77 chain, but every spreader I've ever worked on had a #67 chain. They should be available at any farm store.

Where the #77 came from it is stamped right on the chain link and it appears 67 chain is a hair smaller. Has anyone else heard of #77 chain?

SHOUP mfg has chain, have one of the old links and a tape measure handy and give them a call they can probably tell you what number it is. 1-800-627-6137

Thanks Gene for the information but do you have another phone number. That 1-800 number does not work in Canada.
