Hey everybody,
Hope your day is going better than mine! I have a John Deere 1380 14' mo co and I can't keep the guage wheels holding air for nothing!
Put new tubes in and have not got any satisfaction. I know that they are not a real heavy tire but is there anything anyone can think of that could be put in them to get this problem solved. i priced foam filling and about did my shorts $40 bucks a tire. I have some heavier tires found for 25 bucks a piece and thats probably the route I'll go but I need some input here. Maybe I should just build some skid shoes for it? Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!
Gary

Thanks for the information yall, I have found that a local tire dealer has some thicker heavier ply tires that i believe will solve the problem. I have tried them tubless, tubed, tire sealer and called them a choice name or two with not a bit of luck. Best thing I can think of is the heavier tires. The ones that are on it are what I refer to as bananna peel tires anyhow. They are just not heavy enough for the application.
Thanks again for all the info though.
Gary

When I have trouble with flats on implements tire that have tubes I get most of them solved simply by make the tire tubless.I have did it on discs, chisel plows and batwing mowers. Seems to be working thats what I would try.

Well, I've used some white looking stuff that gets poured into the tire after you remove the valve stem core. I got it at WalMart in the auto section. Fairly thrifty at 4.97 a bottle. I've used it in trailer tires, bicycle tires, and garden/mowing tractor tires. Also have heard good things about a product called slime. I've seen it my local Home Depot, though I've not tried it myself as the wally world stuff has always worked for me. Third suggestion is to go to Gemplers.com and check out their solutions. I've seen some nifty things in their catalog including some inserts that are placed between the tube and tire to prevent thorns and such from puncturing the tube, though this place's solutions are costly so is a flat tire. My2 cents.
