Has anybody had any experience with building and using a tire harrow. They are a harrow using two rows of tires to drag behind a tractor to spread out manure and leave the rocks in place. Thanks

Yup, I've got one. Mine's six tires wide in two rows, one behind the other. twelve tires total. I cut each tire in half with a saws-all down the middle of the tread all the way around, so that you've got a front half and a back half. Bolted them together with the cut edges down. Attached the evener to the front row of tires with short chains to each tire. Used cable for the bridle that goes from the evener to the drawbar. Works as well as my $1000 chain harrow for spreading manure piles.

I built one with three tractor tire covers about 15 foot swath. bolted them with short chain to a two inch pipe left the center chain about ten inches longer. lets outside tires over lap center tire. tires are about 14x28. It does a good job busting up manure piles have also used it to drag plowed ground. Sid
