I just had a McCormick End Gate Spreader given to me. It has the long shaft with the gear on it for the chain that goes down to the inside of the final drive. I think it will bolt on my A. I have looked at my dealership to see what they looked like but they dont have any pictures. Can any one tell me where to look or have they seen one. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Your on the right track. Unless you have only a very small area to seed, you will want to mount it on a wagon for the capacity. Originally, my dad's No. 7 came on a Dearborn wagon and had detachable link chain that ran to a rear wheel. Now it is mounted on a Chevy pickup bed trailer with a belt going to a wheel. I've been thrown out of the wagon more than once as we seeded rice over the levees that were about half constructed. But dad would always stop and pick me up when he heard the spreader go empty. Also it's really hard to stand up and scoop soybeans on the go.

I have one I bought last year to fix up. No pics but is all there and would work I think. I am not sure about what you are talking on putting it on an A. The kind I have has a chain that goes to the gear on a high wheel wagon and the spreader bolts to the end gate of the wagon. Some rubber tire wagons had a gear on them too as I have one like that but it was welded to the spokes. The gear was on the inside of the back wheel and clamped to the spokes. The wagon would carry your spare seed for when you ran out. I don't know but suspect I can gear the seeder down so I can use it for the rubber tired wagon since it will turn too fast versus a high wheel. Hope this is some help to you. Email me if you need more.
