Where can I find wire for a staionary hand-tie baler? Just acquired a #15 IHC Staionary baler, need to find source for wire to use with this baler.
Any help appreciated.

Funny I should read this just today. Helped out at the stationary baler at our show for the first time this year. Asked the fella this question. He said that one has original wire. That didn't do me much good. But this one he said, and pointed to the other one, I just to to the cardboard recycling place and tell them what length I want and he gets it there. Hope this helps. Joel

There is a stationary baler going through its paces at the Canandauqua Steam Show. He had premade wire from somewhere. You might try their web page. Link

You might check with a paper recycles as it is baled and manually wire tied. Have seen wire ready to use.

Look for wire at your farm stores or check with a local feed store. Around here most wheat straw goes to small square wire tied bales for bedding. Besides all that used wire keeps all this 50year old machinery running!!! lol kjm

A few years ago , we shipped compacted red clover bales to England for the Queen's horses. 2 1/2 regular bales were compacted into one using a large hydraulic ram and were tied manualy using three wires. The wires were purchased somewhere in the Amish area in Pennsilvania.

Hi Steve, if your not gonna put thousands of bales through it, you could always buy a roll of baling wire for the later balers, measure for the right length, twist a loop in one end, in a few hours you could make up a bunch. just my thoughts on this.

I haven't ever seen baler wire for sale either 'here', was wondering where a peron would find that? No one seems to like wire ties in southern Minnesota....

I buy my wire at TSC, some stores don't stock but can surely order. A box of wire contains 6,500' of # 14 gauge wire and weighs about 100 #. I always find some store stock boy to load it! Putting into baler is my problem. Dick Davis
