Hi,

I have an old Massey-Ferguson MF 31 rear mounted sickly bar mower. In trying to take the bar off to replace the teeth I got the bar slightly bent. This slight bent keeps the bar from moving properly. I also can't figure out how to attach the part of the assembly that hooks up to the drive unit to the bar. It doesn't have rivet holes all the way up and thus is doesn't stay tight.

The easist thing might be to just buy a new bar. Are bars like this still available? Where can I get one?

Thanks in advance

When you are asking about the teeth are you referring to the sections? If you knock them of the sickle bar, a flat strap full of holes to rivet or bolt the sections to, and replace them hammering the rivets down to tight will make the bar crooked, If you lay it in a vise and bend it can be straightened, The sickle driver rivited on the end must be placed on the sickle properly to get the right holes lined up so the head is just even with the end of sickle. I never had that model of Massey mower but have replaced many sections on mowers, combines, and mower conditioners. The new bolts instead of rivets is the way to go
