Antone ever heard of an ADRIANCE grain binder or the compnay. A guy has a real nice one, but I'm not going to offer too much $ until I have some idea if they worked good or not. Yes, Iknow parts will be nonexistant. But beggars and horse farmers can't be choosy. Could it be a Canadian Co.?, I'm on the border and theres a lot of Massey and Cockshutt around. Thanks.

I believe this was made in New York, in a town I cannot spell, best guess is "Poughepsee" I do not think this is close to how to spell it. I would probably stay away from it unless it looks great and still all there.

If I remember correctly, Adriance & Platt became part of Rumely, which in turn became part of Allis-Chalmers. And yes, I believe it was made in Poughkeepsie New York.

Adriance was bought by the Moline Plow Co. and kept production in N.Y. until 1915 or there about.
The later machines all have the Adriance, Platt & Co. logo followed by Division of Moline Plow Co.
The early ones just have the Adriance, Platt and Co.
They also marketed Buckeye machinery.
They made mowers, Binders, Reapers and hay rakes. They were a very successful company.
The reason for the downfall was not the machinery, it was a huge business deal gone bad when in 1913, this company sold thousands of machines to the Czar in Russia. After the communists overthrew his government, they refused to accept any of the Czars debt, so the Moline Plow Co. never got paid, thus they had to downscale to avoid bankrupcy.
A lesson we should learn about selling to foriegn countries.....
