Last year we were greenchopping corn with this machine, and it seems thats its cutting quality is poor. We dont have an owners manual for it, but how can we get better cutting quality? Whats the proper procedure for sharpening the knives and adjusting the shearbar? It wont matter how much power it takes, we just need it to be cut a little finer so the cows dont waste it. Any help is appreciated.

there should be a emery stone mounted on a round slide bar on top of the cylinder with a ratched to lower the stone on to the cylinder while the pto is spining the cylinder. this will sharpen the knives. procedger is self evedent. The cutter bar is then moved up to the knives until the barely touch and backed away til they just miss. Do this and your machine will chop satisfactory silage jimg
