Does anyone know where I can find the hub gear (?) that goes on the right side of the spreader ( if looking at it from the front). I realy dont know what it is for, I think it drives from the other side. its just a cast peice that fits over the hub and is held on with a pin and key. If any one can help I would appreciate it. thanks.

Dang good chance John Deere still stocks 'em. I got a bunch of bearings and springs and such for mine through my dealer.

I'm a mite confused tho. If I stand at the front of mine and look at the right-hand side of the axle, there's no gear. There's a cam that runs the apron feed ratchet. There are two cams available, a two lobe and a three lobe. The only gears on that side are inside the apron drive rachet box. If you let me know specifically what we're talking about, I can get you a part number and you can check with JD.

thanks, it is the cam ( I didn't know what to call it ) that goes on the outside of the wheel, and it does have three lobes. There is one exactly like it on the other wheel also. A part number would be great. thanks again.

Okay, the "official" John Deere name for it is "Feed Cam and Pawl Holder" and the part number for the 3 lobe (cam only) is 7959 C. The part number for the cam with new pawls and springs is J 18520 C.

Glad ta help.
