The haybine on the farm I work on has a problem with wrapping hay around the rolls while working in the field. What would be a possible cause and remedy for this situation? We're planning on cutting a lot of hay this weekend, so a response as soon as possible will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou for your time. JKK

If it's a disckbine, we're having the same problem... We've found that if you adjust the plate above the rollers up so the hay is thrown higher, helps somewhat.

It depends on what type of hay you are cutting and what type of conditioner you have to give best answer. If cut hay wraps around conditioner rolls look for tension adjustment on rollers or reel set at improper height or fore an aft adjustment on the reel.

Please get a manual, it will discuss properly setting up the rollers based upon the type of hay you are cutting, I broke my older Hesston haybine, which was doing the same thing until it clogged and broke the belt, (it was a older belt anyway), but my manual came in finally from the dealer, and I discovered it was imporperly set the rollers were set too low for my cut, (orchard grass), as well as too much tension, it was a matter of time for it to clog and break, but look at the manual and make sure you adjust your rollers as well as the reel that pushes your hay into them. Good Luck..

Thank you for your reply. We are planning on cutting timothy hay this weekend but it is knocked down pretty good due to rain. Previously it was orchard grass that ended up wrapping the rolls. I was thinking and I think the haybine has the model #469, I'll know better after today. Thanks again
