Just purchased a set of 8' set of hyd. disc(BushHog Brand) and plan on pulling with a Ford 3000. I noticed Hyd. Cylinder has two hoses, my tractor has a single action remote, guess I could plug one hole on cylinder and operated as a single action. Is this a good match for tractor. All input appreciated.

You should be okay if your grass isn't too high, but it will be a real workout for the 3000 Ford to handle an 8' cutter.

I have a 165 MF tractor on a 5' cutter and it really grunts when I cut reed canary grass (6 or 7 feet high). A 6 or 7' cutter would be a better match.

I think all you need is a breather for the hole you're not using on the cylinder. Could make one easily enough. Just gotta let air in and out of that end of the cylinder. That's how mine works on a MF 165D with single-acting remote. That 8' disc will probably be a pretty good match for the 3000, might be a bit much in some soils, but I always did like to make a tractor get down and grunt occasionally. Good luck.
