Is the JD 660 Tiller made by Howard

I have just recently pulled a 660 tiller out of a weed patch that had the tine shaft broken in half and a bunch of other problems and I have been able to weld the shaft back and get it running. I now need to get a couple of parts that had been robbed on it and JD wants a fortune for them. One item is the skid plate adjustment bracket. I have one and need another. It has Howard cast into it so I am guessing that it is a standard part from Howard. I am just wondering how much else on this tiller can I get parts from Howard and are they typically better in price on parts than JD or not. For example the oil seal for the tine shaft discussed in a post below costs $40+. The bearings are only $28. I have elected at the moment to keep putting oil in as needed and risk a bearing set.
