I have a hay pasture (native grass) that has a lot of weeds in it this year and would like to spray it with 2-4D or something like that. Question is, when should you spray (time of year) and how long after can you graze horses or cattle. I have not baled pasture yet. Should I wait till after I do that?

I use 24-D and banvill its called meccamine. I have found the best time to spray is mid to late fall when the plants are preparing for winter. thats just my opinion. works for me in Iowa.

Hi, I have been told and what I've read on the label for 24D. The grass should have at least a 4 or 5 inch growth and temperature at least 60. The labels say grazing 7 days and bailing 30 days after. Weed killer requires the plant to be growing so rain before spraying and rain a day or two after is nice. Bill

Spray Now,I use 2,4 D on everything(Lawn,Sweet corn,Pasture). You need to wait 7 days for forage use,but please read the label or consult your Ag chemical dealer (they'll spray it for you).
Good Luck
