Anyone out there own or have used a Superior sickle bar mower? I've seen some internet prices and they're pretty cheap compared to a New Holland. Getting quote for a New Idea today. Any comments on the Superior anyone?

Where are you located in USA? I know where you can find a cheap sickle bar mower [good quality] for compact tractor. http://www.agriturk.com

Nomad,
I'm of SouthWest of downtown Houston about 20 miles. Little town called Rosenberg. Did some checking around dealers in my area on different types of mowers. One of then carried Tonutti. They're an Italian company and have opened up a place in Tenn. Dealer said he's sold a good many of their disc mowers and some sickles but not many. Most people want the disc mowers. Anyway, he said they've had pretty good luck with them so far. Thought for the money, I'd give it a shot. Can get replacement parts and service right here close so... I don't make hay for a living so it won't get used alot each year. I've only got 40 acres that I'll cut and bale.
Anyway, thanks for the help anyway. Take care.
