What would be the best loader for a JD 4430?

158 is a match for the 4430. As far as JD designing a loader not stressing the mounting points-Most 148 loaders on a 3020 have broken frames, and will break the engine mounting bolts of the tractor (two at rear of engine, each side). They can be drilled and tapped oversize once, and then the engine block has to be replaced. Bigger JDs have four rear engine mounting bolts on each side, and may have fewer problems, but the real solution is to rebuild the loader frame, extending it to the rear axle, putting the stress where it belongs, instead of hanging the loader on the tractor side frames. I did mine almost 20 years ago, and haven't had those problems since.

Hi, If you can find a used one the John Deere 148 or 158 model was manufactured at about the same time as the 4430 was made. I think that using a Deere loader designed to mount on the tractor would give you a little piece of mind that the loader won't overstress the mount points and do damage.

Other manufacturers of course made loaders to fit the 4430, so do your homework and confirm that the mount kit is solid and fits.

The thing you want to avoid is trying to modify a loader mount yourself to fit the tractor, as this can easily lead to damaging either the loader or the tractor frame.

Good luck.

Lyle.
