I have a few implements that I would like to clean up and paint. What paint does everyone recommend? Of course, I am looking for the least expensive and easiest paint to work with. I am not a bodyman, so I am not worried about runs or anything else because I just want to make these things look a little better. Thanks!

Craig

Around here you can't beat Tremclad. It works equally well on non rusted surfaces. Clean smooth metal properly and/or scrape loose rust off with a wire brush. It will penetrate & adhere to surface rust. Apparently the company was sold a while back...I just pray that they don't change the formula. I've been relying on Tremclad for many years. Your only difficulty may in in getting good colour matches, if that is a concern to you. It can be tinted,... but we all have our stories to tell about that process don't we??

Howdy Craig,

Keep in mind you get what you pay for. I myself have tried the enamel paint from the local Fleet Farm and the Farm and Fleet store and they were faded out in 2 years. Sence then I only use the paint from the equipment maker. If it's something where the maker has gone out of business or they no longer handle that color I use Diamond-Vogel.

My 2 bits worth,

Old Iron
