Can anyone give me some info on a M272 Cutditioner? How does it work? There is one for sale in the local paper. I remember seeing a post from Tim(nj) with a picture. Any input is would be great!

No, not yet. I talked to the guy selling it and he said it was his grandfather's that just passed and they were selling everything off the farm. He told me it was probably from the 60's. He said that it had always been covered and that he thought it would work. I still plan on going to look at it some time if my schedule permits.

I forgot to ask if a Farmall H would have enough guts to motivate this mower. I have heard mixed responses from some locals. Speed doesn't concern me because it is for only a couple of acres.

An H will not be able to run one. The 272 is a 7' cut, flail type machine, that requires a minimum of 45 HP to operate it.

Thanks Tim, I did some more investigation and found that to be true. I guess I'll keep looking for a good sickle bar.
