I was hoping that someone could help me identify a wood beam walking plow that I have.

It is about a 10 or 12 inch plow.

The only identifying mark that I can find is the letters "AO" stamped on the inside of the moldboard.

Thank you in advance.

Hey Dan, I have a John Deere wooden beam plow, Mine was built about 1874, it is the 16 inch, they made this model in 12 and 14 inch also. The markings on mine is on the back side of the share. It has the name Deere with two circles, the first one looks like a pie cut in 5 pieces, and the other has a dot in the center of the circle. The John Deere archives and company offices are only about 45 miles from us at Moline Illinois. I sent them pictures of my plow and received all the info on mine. I looked in my book they sent me and did not see anything with an AO marking, sorry I couldn't help more.. Let me know what you find out..... Binder-Man

I also have a Deere plow, but mine is an iron beam. It has the same markings that your wood beam has.

ITs funy, but I also have a wood beam plow nd its a 12in I think. I havnt restored it because I rather want a 14in. Perhaps they wernt to popular back in the wood beam plow days as they got to be ion the iron beam days. Good luck
