New Holland 65 Compact Baler?

I have 4 acres of hay field. I could cut and pick it up with forks with a few guys and a case of 24. A dealer gave me a 380$ quote for a New Holland Baler #65 Compact. Said he'll set up a test with hay to see how it works and offered to fix anything that doesn't work.

Are these reliable machines?

Thanks.

I have been using the 65 on 20 acres of hay for 3 years. Parts are hard to find. There are many discontinued. I've even had to manufacture some. I think the main reason it is slow is because I am doing a lot of adjustments and repairs. But for the price and the low number of acres I do, I'll stick with the 65 until I find a really good deal on a newer machine. If you get it and need an owners manual, I could send you a copy of mine. I just have to finish scanning it into the computer.

Used one for several years with no problems. Just don't push them.

So Scott do you think a few guys with a 24 is by any means a FAST way to make hay? Of course if you buy the baler you might lose the occasion to do a serious fun thing with your buddies. Dick
