10 gallons of water an acre is good enough tough perenial [sp] weeds will require up to a gallon o round up an acre.

I mix some 2 4 D with roundup to kill the broadleaves. roundup will kill them but takes longer. 2-4-D is almost instant gratification, broadleaves die in a day or 2. You can still buy 2-4-D in gallon containers without a pesticide license at least here. Roundup ultra has a surfactant in it already but if the roundup you get doesn't, use some surfactant or "booster" with it to make it stick better.

I use about a quart per acre and put down 25-30 gallons of water per acre. That will kill most weeds. Now down here in Ga. ,we have bermuda grass, takes about 6 quarts per acre to do her in. Andy

Calibrate your sprayer to determine how many gallons of water you spray per acre. Then use about one quart of Roundup per acre.

I believe you are using a lot more water than is recommended. I think 20 gal per acre is prefered, does a better job.

Depending on how deep the pocketbook is & how tough a weeds you have, a quart per acre would do more.

In any case, we all are required to read & follow the label, where all this info is contained.

Mark, a quart mixed with 10-15 gals. of water should do the trick. I believe that I used about 26oz. of the Round-up Ultra last year. I was covering 6 acres with about 75 gal. of water. Round-up will not kill every thing. It will get most grasses. It is not too good on morning glories and rag weed. Check with your extension agent.
