Last fall the QFF (only local source) folded and no other place to get ag parts. This spring GRAND OPENING of TSC about 2 hrs. away. Cool - now I have a place to get parts. Giving away catalogs too.

Called yesteday looking for shins for new old iron Oliver 4340 plow and guess what? Come on by! Show you our entire line of ag parts. Best in the area!

Big disappointment :( NO SHINS, supplier issue some folks been on back order since Jan. (sounds like QFF) Anyone got a real TSC that I can order shins from? Need a couple plus, wear pad and possibly a share.

Orange Park TSC = Tails (horse), Sissies and Corrals. I was raised with horses but this place has more horse stuff than any place I have ever seen! Not to much in the way of farm maintenance. Guess there is big money in horses now! Horse arses showing their horse's arse. Wasn't no money to be made during the late 60's - 70's!

Well I guess I'm lucky,
I have always gotten my shares and shins amd moldboards from tsc.in southern Mi. In the spring, sometimes their supply is exhausted so I just order it and it arrives with in a week. they can get you anything in the catalog, Sometimes you get a dummy that has to be "EDD I Cated"(LOL) sometimes a conversation with the manager does the trick.
BUT you shouldn't have to beg a merchant to supply your needs!! luckly my local J.D. dealer can still supply tillage parts at a little more cost if I need them in a hurry.

Shep,

TSC I learned last year have two different store models. One is used in very agricultural areas and the other is considered the "Metro" style of store. I had stopped at one in Kingsport TN to get a plow point and the man working there apologized but said they had converted that store to the Metro format and they would not let him order plow parts any longer.

Did you check with Agri Supply? I know I have sent you their name before but they are pure AG and don't care who knows it.

here in indianapolis we still have enough farms around that we have plow parts but they are limited. they have all the parts for one number of a plow. maybe afew for another number. but not all of the parts you would need.i guess just one part wears out om most peoples!lol but there is probably more of us using smaller , andolder plows than there are full timers using the big modern moldboards. most now are chisel plowing or no tilling to cut costs and get over larger farms with less labor.some plow bottoms that you cant find parts for can be replaced with other brands or models that will fit the bolt hole patterns.i think someone told me that an ih bottom will fit ac. i dont know the number. personally i think moldboards still have a place and in certain fields and areas wont cause as much erosion as they say! i think i need to hunt up my shoups catalog. i've never heard of agri supply.

Tim,
Follow that link. If you don't see it on the web site then call the 800 number and ask. The sales staff I have talked to have all farmed and know what a plow looks like. lol This company still believes that a farmer is important and needs supplies. My wife calls it the "toy store for big boys" but I know when I need a sickle bar with knives for a ford 501 mower they are more apt to have it at a reasonable price than the FNH dealer.

Jerry -
Yup! That's who I am calling tomorrow - Agri Supply. Sure wish they would open store here in FL. I had hoped to buy parts locally but if they don't support it I can't spend it. Even if the TSC store is "METRO" one would think you would maintain some link to your past success. Oh well. Thanks again for putting my head back on straight.

I have used Agri-Supply (NC) in the past with a great deal of success. Heck, once I even got a letter from their President thanking me for the kind comments I posted here. Since he also owns an Oliver I am sure I can get parts their. They are THE Ag maintenance place for me. They truely have Customer SERVICE! Shoups is good to, bought parts for my transport disk and very satisfied.

ya'll must have a better TSC store than the one i used to go to. the dumbbunnies that work here don't have any idea what they have in stock. there 3 pt. implements are junk and the paint is the sorriest quality i have ever seen and the colors won't match either. lots of overpriced feed and clothes and horse stuff. i tried the ordering parts before and waited 3 weeks only to be told that the order never got placed. no thanks TCS, i can do without your store.
