What Frank said.

Now, there are several different thrower designs - 2 running belts that shoot the bale out like a baseball pitching machine, or an arm that tosses it up, run with springs & maybe hydraulics. They can be worth a bit, depends on what baler, what style, what demand.

The chute is a simple thing, could pick up pretty cheap from a salvage lot pretty cheaply I would think.

Never really saw a baler in these parts without one or the other.

Both of these are alternatives to picking bales up from the ground. The chute is an extension that allows bales to be pushed up on a wagon being towed behind the baler. There should be a person riding on this wagon to stack these bales.
To reduce baling to a one-person operation, a "thrower" tosses bales back into a trailing wagon, one with high sides to retain them in an unstacked pile.
