There is a man that said he would give me his John Deere baler he had sitting on his farm. It looks in fair shape except for an engine. After reading the posts I don't think I want a baler that has a separate baler but as I was looking at it I noticed the drive shaft pointing toward the front. I know there will be someone telling me it can't be done, but would it be possible to fashion or purchase a drive shaft that would attach to my tractor pto (farmall M)? There would have to be some adjustments I know but I don't know what horsepower the engine was that was on it or the rpm needed to run the baler. Has anyone attempted this kind of conversion successfully? How hard is it to get parts for this type of baler? Also is this a wire or twine baler? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks.
