Anyone know of any written articles or history of the New Idea company? Seems like they made a lot of good machines.

Leo,
Glad there is some interest out there on NI. I am working on a pictorial NI history book. Slow in the making, I have assembled some pictures and have had some interviews with factory people as I am fortunate to live about 30 miles away from the old Coldwater plant. Trying to get as much info as possible from these knowledgeable old factory men, as many are up in years and are passing on. Every time I go to a sale and see a nice picker, spreader or other implement, I take a picture of it. I have some NI equipment here myself on the farm. If you want to know more, e-mail me, I am always interested in talking New Idea.

Hi Jim, Saw an old posting you made about New Idea. I till a very small farm and I'm looking for A New Idea 1 row corn picker but I only have a Farmall Super A. What models will work with my tractor. Also, have you finshed your history book yet? Bill Stumm

Jim,

I'm in the process of restoring a New Idea #10 horse drawn mower and I would like to make sure I'm getting the colors right. Do you have any color pictures handy?

Thanks much,

Old Iron
