I've got an older 4 row IH corn planter that I was wondering if anyone might know the model number. It has the round galvanized fertilizer buckets and the markers have to be lifted by pulling a rope for each side. They don't lift when the planter lifts.

A 242. Are your fertilizer boxes good? Is it for sale? if yes, location?

Thanks for the info. Its the planter I use every year for my 4-5 acres of corn so I'm not interested in selling it. Do you have any idea about what years it would have been manufactured. I'd like to get some idea how old it is.

If it is the one I am thinking of, it was built between 1948 and 1953. If you have access to a copy of the book 150 years of International Harvester, look on page 77 in the upper right hand corner. I might be gettins some plates and have extras if you need/want them.
