Last year we bought a shed kept 27V from the original owner's grandson. The mower had been moved several times. Over the years the lift handle for the bar was misplaced. I would like to find a replacement, or the original hydraulic lift cylinder and brackets,if possible. I don't weld (but know I should get to it sometime) and have thought about hauling the mower to our local machine shop to have a lift mechanism built for it. The grandson said that the mower was only used a few years. The bar is right, and the entire deal looks like it is only 3-4 years old even though it was made decades ago. I'd like to get it working in time to cut hay. Other old mowers that I've looked at are in worse shape and bring a whole lot more $ then we paid for this one. In fact we paid more for a manual for it then we paid for the mower... go figure. I think the mower is worth putting into the field until we can afford a mower/conditioner in another 5 years or so. I'm planning on bolting it to the lower link mounted draw bar with offset brackets like the manual shows as an original option. Two stabilizers to hold the links firm.

If you've had experience with this mower, or have some ideas to share with us I'd sure appreciate it. Whatever that advice might be, it'll come welcome... Mike

I have one that I haven't used in several years. I do remember that it didn't work well without a cylinder to lift the cutterbar up to clear the mown hay. I later rigged a 3-point hookup that lifted it just enough to clear the mown hey without using the cylinder.
